{ Lazy days & KitchenAid }

Hello everybody! How is your Christmas so far? Did any of your wishes come true this year? 

I got a KitchenAid mixer and a lot of other nice presents that I wished for, so I´am very, very happy! I´m now enjoying lazy days at my mom´s place - knitting and eating candy(!)

I can´t wait to move into the new apartment in Oslo the 6th of January. It feels like a very long time to wait, but I hope time flies fast. I really don´t appreciate to live out of suitcases!!

Today´s inspiration is from Green Gate. I think their collection is perfect for both Christmas and for everyday use - very cosy and cute.

Thank you so much for all your Christmas greetings on my previous post. I truly appreciate all your sweet comments.

{ Merry Christmas! }

Christmas eve is getting closer and I hope all of you have everything under control. I have a couple of presents left, but hopefully I will be done today so I have time to relax and enjoy this lovely time of the year.

 My good friend Cecilie from "Cecilie´s Lykke" and I had a great time baking different sweets for Christmas last Saturday, and I thought I could show you some pictures. Her home is very beautiful and cosy, so we had the perfect surroundings when we baked...

{ All I want for Christmas... }

I`ve put together a list of some of the things that I wish for Christmas. I know some of them are too expensive to wish for, but who knows, maybe Santa is rich this year *smile*

Even though it´s nice to get what you wish for, I also hope that I get some presents that surprise me. I always love it when someone who knows me have found that special gift I did not think of, but is just perfect. It is also much more fun finding those special presents for people you love - if only I got started in July instead of December *smile*

{ A modern Christmas house }

Not everybody likes to decorate for Christmas in a traditional way, and I think that it´s interesting and inspiring to see other ways people decorate their Christmas home.

This home is a good example how you can decorate it modern, but still have it cosy and Christmasy.... I love it! 

You might think that the Christmas tree looks a bit "skinny", but this look is very trendy here in Scandinavia this year, and so is the sink bucket. What do you think about this tree?

Their dining table is gorgeous with its natural look. I would really enjoy sitting by that beautiful table.

 This house is fabulous on the outside as well. With easy decorations like this, you have something to welcome you guests. 

What to you think about this kind of Christmas decoration? Is it too modern for you?

{ Christmas wrapping }

How is it going with your Christmas shopping so far? I was walking around in Oslo yesterday trying to buy the last presents, but I was not able to completely finish... The last ones are always the toughest ones, don´t you agree?

Anyway, I´ve started to wrap the presents that I´ve already bought, and this is how they look like this year. I bought the paper and the twine at Ikea, the tags are from USA, and the "TOO" and  "FROM" text is made on my Dymo machine.

{ Sia's Christmas Collection }

How cute isn't the Christmas collection from Sia this year? Traditional but with elements of modern. The combination of red and white is always a classic and cosy way to decorate for Christmas.

 I especially like their textiles with the deer on, and all the lovely decorations on the tree.

I also love the heart where you can put name tags on - great idea!

Notice the cute heart to the right. This shouldn't be that difficult to make yourself if you want a little DIY project.

{ A little Christmas decoration tips }

{ Tips: 2 ways to use your jars this Christmas }

I have showed you a lot of ways to use jars in earlier post, and I here you have two more. Since it's Christmas I want to show you a couple of cute ways to store your Christmas cookies or your tea lights.

On the jar that contains cookies, I've attached lace sticky tape and some twine with a tag that says "eat".

The jars are from Ikea, but I suppose you can get similar ones other places as well.

The other jar is filled with tea lights. Christmas is a time where we usually burn a lot of candles, and it's nice to have it easily accessible in the living room or the kitchen. On this one I used the Dymo machine and marked it with " Tea Lights".

I took these pictures this weekend, and I can promise you that the jar is no longer full. We have to empty it before we move you know. *smile*

{ I'm moving back to Norway! }

I'm moving back to Norway! After 1.5 good years in Los Angeles, I am now looking forward to 4 seasons, snow and cold weather. My fiancée will be travelling extensively next year which is why we decided that it's better to stay closer to home with family and friends nearby.

First we will rent an apartment in Oslo until we find a place to buy. This means that I will have a new home to show you, and I can share my thoughts and plans along the way when I'm decorating this new apartment. We are leaving to Norway on Thursday night, but we will stay with our family until we take over the apartment in January. I hate to wait that long, but I guess I have no choice. The good thing about this is that I have good time to plan, and to get to know all the Norwegian stores again.

How was your weekend btw? Did you buy any Christmas presents? We went Christmas shopping on both Saturday and Sunday, but I only found stuff for myself. Isn't that typical?

Next week I will be blogging from Norway - can't wait to see some snow and feel the cold again. That will give me the Christmas spirit that I need.

{ Christmas - table setting }

Having guests in December means that we can fill the table with cosy Christmas decorations - how FUN! This is definitively my favorite month to set the table. Do you feel the same?

This time I used my artificial pine-garland, some pinecones and my cute wooden salt and pepper shakers to bring nature into our living room, and to make it extra cosy.

 The pine garland from Ikea is great if you don't want to have a lot of loose pines all over! Normally I don't like artificial flowers etc, but this one is okay.

I put a paper star on each napkin, and I put a snowflake under each glass to bring out the winter that is non-existing here in LA *smile*

 I used dark grey place mats to make a contrast with all the white, which I think gives the table a cosier feeling.

I also decorated with my "home made" candles so they matched the napkins, then I put them in little bowls.
