{ DIY: Headboard! }

When I showed you the pallet ideas yesterday, I also promised you that I would show you what I have used my pallets for. So without further introduction - meet our new headboard!

I´m actually quite pleased with the result, but I´m not sure if I should paint them or not. What do you think? I´m thinking either black or white. I kind of like this natural color as well....

So what do you think? You can see more photos of our bedroom on Stylizimo.com.
Wish you all a wonderful day! Here in Oslo it's snowing A LOT at the moment, so it seems that we have to wait a bit longer for spring.

{ Our living room }

I promised you that I would show you some more pictures of our living room, and now that everything is in its place I have snapped some pictures...

As you can see it´s not very colorful but from time to time I add colors using colorful flowers. The magazines on the ladder are also bringing some color into our living room.

I hope you like my new living room, and that it gave you some inspiration. I have taken some more pictures, and I will be adding them on Stylizimo.

I´ve also seen that a lot of you have joined as members on Stylizimo.com, and that makes me really happy! I hope you all will enjoy the community and that we can inspire each other. I love looking at the albums that you upload.

If you´re not a member of the Stylizimo community yet, you can sign up for FREE here (You can choose between English or Norwegian language up in the right corner). Everyone is welcome, and it´s optional if you want to upload photos or not.

{ Enjoying the weekend }

Hello you, and hello Sunday! The sun is shining and it seems like it´s going to be a wonderful day here in Oslo today! Our weekend is all about the World Cup event (which is in Oslo now), enjoying the great weather and eating freshly baked cinnamon rolls. I also got some new interior magazines that I´m enjoying - the weekend couldn´t be more perfect!

I also made these cappuccinos with hearts on. To make the hearts I made a stencil out of paper and sprinkled the cinnamon over the cappuccino. It's always nice to do the little extra.
Unfortunately I don´t have the right cappuccino cups yet, but it tasted delicious anyway *smile*

I hope you are enjoying your weekend as well. Happy Sunday!

{ KitchenAid love }

A few days ago I got the KitchenAid Mixer that I actually got for Christmas. I told my fiancé that he should wait buying it until it was on sale. So yesterday I had to bake some chocolate cupcakes and celebrate that it´s finally here. Oh joy!

If somebody in Norway wonders where you can buy it for a more affordable price, you can check out Komplett.no

Hopefully I'll have time to bake more this weekend. It's much more fun now that I have equipment.

Wish you all a happy weekend! Have FUN *smile*

{ DIY: New striped pot! }

You have probably noticed that I like Tine K's striped cups as I have them everywhere. The reason that I'm mentioning them is that they were actually the inspiration for this new pot-cover that I have knitted... Black and white stripes it is!

I love knitting as long as the object that I'm making is easy and only takes one(!) evening. This is exactly one of those projects *smile*

Thank you so much your all your kind feedback on my kitchen yesterday! Your comments are always very appreciated. Happy Thursday, darlings!

{ My kitchen }

Since I blogged about "Spring feeling" yesterday, I thought I would show you that I actually have a brought spring into my kitchen as well...

I got some gorgeous yellow tulips from a dear friend this weekend, and they certainly gave our kitchen a fresh look. Let´s say that I´ve started a bit early with my Easter decoration *smile*

Oh, I love this Savon soap so much! This one was actually a Christmas gift.

For those of you that have been reading my blog for a while, may recognize that I´ve now finally gotten my Eames chairs and my white Ikea table back from LA. You can see how our home made dining table looked like here. Which dining table do you like the best?

I can´t say how happy I am to get all our things back from our previous apartment. Oh, joy!

I hope these pictures gave you an extra spring feeling, and once again I will point out how much it does by having a little color on the flowers.

If you want to see more pictures on how my kitchen looks right now you can click here.

{ One shelf, two looks! }

Hello everybody! Today I would like to show you how different it looks only by changing colors on a few elements. I have used my home-made kitchen shelf as an example to demonstrate how different it can be...

In my first example I´ve used a cold blue/light turquoise and in the image below I´ve used a warm yellow. I only changed a couple of elements, but as you can see it looks quite different.

Which one is your favorite? Do you prefer cold or warm colors?

Also reminding you all that it´s possible to download a Stylizimo App for your iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. You will now find a new version that works better than the first one. Read more about Stylizimo App here.

{ Moodboard - truly inspiring! }

As I've told you before; I love to get inspired by moodbords. Usually I make them on a table and take pictures of it, but this time I've made one using a canvas so I can have it over my desk. I used pins and tape to put everything on its place, this way I can easily change the moodboard if I want it to look different.

I've attached a wire to the canvas, so I can hang stuff that I find inspiring as well. The wire actually makes the moodboard more interesting I think.

Usually when I make a moodboard I follow a color scheme, but that isn't necessary of course. There are no rules when it comes to moodboards. It's just FUN and very inspiring!

I will probably fill it up gradually as I find more inspiring photos etc. But I think this is a good start.

Do you ever make moodboards? Do you put them up on the wall like this?

{ My new feminine home office! }

I've done some changes in my home office again, and this time I wanted it to be more feminine and bright. This is how it turned out...

An easy way to get a feminine look in your home office is to add feminine stationery with girly colors and patterns. Or you can even make a moodboard like I have done here with inspirational photos from magazines and other inspirational objects you love.
Decorative notebooks and boxes will help the surface of your desk get even more romantic and feminine.

An old wooden crate for my favorite magazine is a nice thing to have in reach if I need inspiration.

As I told you in my previous "10 home office tips" post, flowers are a must in your office! They make it extra pleasant and they bring beauty and character to your room.

You can see more pictures of my home office here.
If you wonder how it used to look like, you can view it here.

What do you think?

{ Little by little... }

Things are starting to fall into place after having packed up everything from our shipment from LA. It was quite a job, but it was great to see all our things again. I have missed many of the small details that made it homey in our apartment in Los Angeles, e.g my homemade "Home Sweet Home"- pillow,
sheep furs, my Coca Cola wooden crate, books, pictures etc.

Our sofa table and dining table has also been replaced with the ones we had before. They actually made the room a bit brighter, because this apartment really has its dark corners I´ll tell you!

Gotta have some snack while I´m redecorating, right? This was a gift from a very good friend.

Little by little our home falls into place. Currently, it seems a bit over-furnished, so maybe I need to get rid of some stuff or just get used to it *smile*

I´ll be back with some more updates throughout the week. Stay tuned!

Happy new week everyone!
An extra big thank you for all of you that leave me comments. It´s very appreciated, and I always love to hear what you think...

{ Morning glory }

Hello everybody! How are you? It´s such a beautiful Sunday here in Oslo today and what could be better than having breakfast and a good cup of tea while the sun is flowing  trough the windows - I love it!

My "enjoy tag" is downloaded from Konfettiform. A nice detail that make the morning even more enjoyable.

Enjoy your day!
I will continue unpacking and getting organized.... So much to do.

{ DIY: Chalkboard }

Oh, hello Friday! My favorite day of the hole week is finally here!

I promised you the other day that I would show you my latest DIY project, and here it is! I simply painted over an old painting with chalkboard paint and I painted the frame white (I promise you that the painting wasn´t worth anything. You can see a before picture of it here if you like.)
 The text "home sweet home" is made in Photoshop, and not written my me unfortunately. *smile*
Chalkboard paint is so much fun! You should try it if you haven´t.
If you missed the last one I made, you can see it here.

Have a good weekend everyone! Use it well.

{ 7 ways to use a wooden crate! }

Wooden crates are a great way to bring rustic wood into our homes in a decorative way, and I bet quite many of you have them already. Crates can be used in many ways and I have 7 ideas for you here today...

You can view some more pictures on how you can use wooden crates here if you like.
Do you have crates in your home? How do you use them?

Tomorrow I have a new BEFORE/ AFTER project for you - stay tuned!

{ Before and after }

Last week I bought some brass candle holders and a orange pot at a goodwill store here in Oslo. I love bargains and I love making things more beautiful, so I spray painted them all white.

This is how my "new" candle holders and pot look like after the makeover...
 I´m so happy with the result! What do you think?

You can see the "before" pictures and other pictures of the candle holders here if you like.

Happy new week everyone!

{ New home office details }

I have done a few changes in my home office because I wanted it to be more cute and girly, and not so rough. I have therefore added some hints of soft purple together with my homemade knitted "pot".
The office has now a more feminine look, which I like a lot. At least for now... *smile*

 You can see how it looked like before the changes here.

Thank you for visiting me!
Enjoy your day.

{ DIY: Wooden letter }

This has to be the easiest DIY project I´ve ever done, but still a good "money saving" project.
I had some wooden plank leftovers after the shelf that I recently made, so I simply glued two of the planks together with super glue and made the letter L, and then I painted it with chalkboard paint so I can decorate it or write on it as well.
Imagine a huge letter in the hallway with messages etc. - that would be awesome. Hmmm... maybe next time. *smile*

All I have to do now is to find a place to put it...

Other letter that should be easy to make with planks are: A, E, F, H, I, K, M, T, V, X, Y and Z

Thank you all for your warm compliments on my living room yesterday! Your comments are always a pleasure to read.

{ A peek of our living room }

Hello everybody! How are you?

I thought I would show you some more details from our living room today. Things are coming together even though we haven´t gotten our things from Los Angeles yet. (Yes, I´m sick of waiting, and it seems that we have to wait for at least 3 weeks more! Much longer than I expected, so I actually feel kind of sorry for myself)

You can view more pictures from our living room here.

I have a small new project going on, hopefully I´ll have some pictures to show you tomorrow - stay tuned *smile*

Have a lovely new week!
