{ Christmas - table setting }

Having guests in December means that we can fill the table with cosy Christmas decorations - how FUN! This is definitively my favorite month to set the table. Do you feel the same?

This time I used my artificial pine-garland, some pinecones and my cute wooden salt and pepper shakers to bring nature into our living room, and to make it extra cosy.

The pine garland from Ikea is great if you don't want to have a lot of loose pines all over! Normally I don't like artificial flowers etc, but this one is okay.

I put a paper star on each napkin, and I put a snowflake under each glass to bring out the winter that is non-existing here in LA *smile*

I used dark grey place mats to make a contrast with all the white, which I think gives the table a cosier feeling.

I also decorated with my "home made" candles so they matched the napkins, then I put them in little bowls.

{ Our Thanksgiving table }

Hello everybody! How is your weekend so far? I have a cold going these days that I can't seem to get rid of, but I hope I'll get better soon.

I promised you that I would show you some pictures from our Thanksgiving dinner that we had on Thursday, and here they are...

We were invited to some friends that live in a beautiful house here in LA. I helped my friend Sarah with the cooking, so now I know how to make Thanksgiving dinner. I was also in charge of the table setting, which I love to do.

I made "Thank you" tags that I put on every napkin and I attached straw on the candle blocks.

I also brought my artificial spruce-garland which I put on the table.

They already had some flowers, which is always a nice way to add some colors to the table and the room. They matched nicely with the chairs as well.

I didn't want to decorate the table too much since we were having a lot of food.

Sometimes less is more *smile*

The table was so nice when we got all the food there, but since it was very dark it was difficult to take good pictures as I don't have a flash. But this picture underneath wasn't that bad.

I was so full after all the delicious food and awesome pumpkin pie - you can't even imagine!

{ Happy Thanksgiving! }

Today it's Thanksgiving here in the US! It's actually the first time I'm going to celebrate it and I am very excited! My dear friend Sarah and I are going to make dinner together and I'm in charge of the table setting as well. Hopefully I will get some good pictures taken so I can share our dinner with you.

Thanksgiving is probably the most important holiday for most Americans.
It's a long weekend for relaxation and spending time with family and close friends.
A time for turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie, Indian corn and holiday parades...

It's a nice occasion for just getting together and being thankful that we have each other!

That's why I will give all of my readers a big hug today, and say thank you!

{ Table for two }

Hello everybody! How was your weekend? My fiancée left to Hong Kong on Sunday and he is going to stay there for a couple of weeks, so on Friday I wanted to do a little extra when we had dinner and I made these "LOVE" cards that I put under each glass - nothing much but it´s always appreciated when you put your heart into something...

I also put some lace tape on top of the "LOVE" card. I doesn't show that well on the pictues but it looked really nice. I can´t wait to use this tape on the Christmas wrapping!

{ Halloween: table setting }

I know it's a little early to decorate the table for Halloween, but yesterday was my only chance since we have other plans this weekend. It was kind of fun to do something different, and I like the dramatic look our dining table got. With a black tablecloth, some pumpkins, pine cones and candles on the table we are all set for a "Halloween dinner"!

I made some cute notes in each bowl using gift tags and letter stamps.

I wrote the words: EAT, DRINK, LAUGH and ENJOY.

{ Table setting in purple }

On Friday we invited my boyfriend's family for tapas. I totally forgot to take pictures after I put all the food on the table, because I was so stressed to get everything ready before they came. You probably know how it is - cooking and fixing all day!

But I took some pictures of the table earlier that day as I like to set the table a bit early, so I don't have to stress with it in the last minute.

This time I wanted to add some more color, so I used our new purple napkins and some matching flowers to make it fresh and pretty. But the food was the last piece of the decoration - tapas is very decorative!

Do you have any routines when you set the table? Sometimes I even do it the day before, so I can use all the time I need. It's SO FUN - don't you agree?

{ Making it pretty for our guests }

I don't know if it's because of the rainy weather here in LA, but this week seems so looooong! I can't wait for it to be weekend again - can you?

We had some friends over for dinner last night, and here are some pictures of our dining table before they arrived.

I decorated it with block candles, pine cones, a pumpkin and some small flowers from my hydrangea, and the napkins are folded in a "basic silverware pouch".

I'm using a lot of grey and purple when I'm setting the table these days, what color do you decorate your dining table with this fall?

I love having people over for dinner, and even if it's just a weekday I like to set the table nicely so my guests feel welcome. Last time I did a little extra with the napkins; I tied a twine around the napkin and I added some dried heather underneath. It gave the table a touch of autumn and made it a lot more cosy and welcoming...
