{ Spring flowers - how can we use them? }

Today I´d like to show you some ideas on how you can bring spring into your home simply by adding flowers. I don´t know about you, but flowers make me happier and spring flowers are full of joy with their lovely colors.

A nice idea is to put some miniature Primula in your favorite cups like in the picture above.
Or you can add flowers to your table setting, and do something similar as showed in the pictures underneath.

Fresh colors like these create good energy in the room!

Lots of spring bulbs in a wooden crate make a great result. Maybe you can grow them yourself?

Do you have a favorite spring flower? Do you have them in cups, vases, pots, crates, baskets....? Maybe you want to show me, by uploading some photos on Stylizimo.com? I would love to get some more ideas *smile*

Have a wonderful weekend, darlings!

{ H&M HOME - new store! }

It´s an exciting day here in Oslo, Norway today! H&M opens the country's first and the worlds 6th "H&M Home store"! For the first time in Norway we can buy interior products from H&M Home in store - Oh joy!

Their concept is quite different compared to other shops. All the items are like little magnets and with a small magnetic board you can put together your "shopping cart". The board will get scanned at the register, and you retrieve the goods there after you have paid.

These products are just a little peek of what they actually have in their home collection. You can view more on their homepage.

I´m unfortunately too busy to visit their new store this week, but I will go there next week for sure! Maybe I can take some photo´s for you as well.

Have you ever been to a H&M Home store before?

I´m overwhelmed by all the nice feedback I got on my DIY headbord/Bedroom yesterday! I´ll take your advise and not paint the pallets, and keep them as they are *smile*

Thank you all!

xoxo, Nina

{ One shelf, two looks! }

Hello everybody! Today I would like to show you how different it looks only by changing colors on a few elements. I have used my home-made kitchen shelf as an example to demonstrate how different it can be...

In my first example I´ve used a cold blue/light turquoise and in the image below I´ve used a warm yellow. I only changed a couple of elements, but as you can see it looks quite different.

Which one is your favorite? Do you prefer cold or warm colors?

Also reminding you all that it´s possible to download a Stylizimo App for your iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. You will now find a new version that works better than the first one. Read more about Stylizimo App here.

{ 12 ways to get organized! }

We always need more space don't we? By thinking a little bit different, you can create more space and utilize every inch. Therefore, I've gathered 12 tips on how you can get more organized...

1. A bench in the hallway is perfect for storing your shoes etc.
2. By adding a shelf above it you have room for your hats and scarf as well.

3. Use pretty boxes for your dvds and cds.
4. Put your favorite books and magazine under the table, so they are easy to reach.

 5. A bookshelf can be used for so many other things than books. Use your creativity!

6. Why not try something a little untraditional like these barrels.

7. Store your pretty shoes using a ladder. View other ways to use a ladder here.

8. This chest of drawers is great for storing your magazines.

9. Show off your nice things in the kitchen by displaying them on shelves and cabinets.

 10. To avoid clutter on the kitchen counter, it may be an idea to collect stuff in baskets or wooden crates. Read "10 ways to decorate with a basket" here.

11. Store your bottles in zinc boxes. A perfect way to add an industrial look in your room.

12. Keep it organized inside your closets as well, by using boxes for your small stuff. Then it will look beautiful even when you open the doors.

I hope these tips give you some ideas on how to keep it organized.

Thank you for all your sweet comments on my new feminine office and moodboard.
It warms my heart.

{ 11 Valentine Ideas }

Valentines day is only a few days away and I thought some Valentine inspiration wouldn't hurt.

I have picked out 11 gift ideas that I found truly adorable - something meaningful.

I obviously like all the ideas since I picked them out, but I have to say that I really adore the pictures with the small folded hearts and the cute tags in the first row. It shouldn't be that hard to make these ourselves, right?

I´m actually a grass widow these days so I have no Valentines day plans.
What do YOU usually do on Valentines day?

{ Before and after }

Last week I bought some brass candle holders and a orange pot at a goodwill store here in Oslo. I love bargains and I love making things more beautiful, so I spray painted them all white.

This is how my "new" candle holders and pot look like after the makeover...
 I´m so happy with the result! What do you think?

You can see the "before" pictures and other pictures of the candle holders here if you like.

Happy new week everyone!

{ Wise words in a frame }

I saw these wise words over at the lovely blog pilli pilli a while ago, and I saved them in a file. I have now made a picture that we have placed in our living room, so we always can remind ourselves to find the time...

Thank you all for your sweet comments on my new dresser and the shelf that I´ve made - you are all sweethearts!

I wish you all a wonderful day! I hope you have sunshine too.

{ 1-2-3 new pot! }

I was knitting a scarf during the holidays, but after 1/3 of the scarf I thought that maybe I could use it around vases or pots instead.
Here you have the result...
I used the same cable stitch pattern as I used on the pillow that I made. But know I used thinner knitting needles and yarn.
Have you knitted anything for your home lately?

{ Coffee table on a budget - BEFORE AND AFTER }

When I was on Ikea this Saturday I found a dining table in the SALE corner. It was super cheap, so I thought I could use it as a coffee table after a makeover.

Makeover - what I did:

I went home and cut the legs in a length that I found suitable, then I treated the legs with driftwood stain and the top got painted white.
Suddenly I had a coffee table with a look that I´m now very happy with!

The cushions in the sofa are the ones I made on Sunday. I made a circular pillow, and I finished the knitted pillow I have shown you a sneak peek of before! I need some more pillows though -  I feel that that sofa is a bit empty still.

What do you think?

It´s so nice to see that so many of you have entered todays giveaway already! I have signed up for the workshop myself and I´m really excited to learn some more about photography.

{ 5 ideas for the wall }

Empty white walls can sometimes seem difficult to decorate. What can we possibly fill our walls with except for paintings and prints? Since I´m moving into a new apartment now, I have given this some thought and found 5 ideas that I hope you find useful...
I can feel that I am both excited and dreaded to move into a new apartment. Moving into an empty and white apartment often makes it difficult to imagine how it can be. The thing is that I´ve only seen pictures of the apartment on the Internet, and I have no idea how everything looks. I find it very difficult to plan in advance, because I have no feeling of how the rooms are size-wise and wide-angle camera only get me confused.
Anyway, it will be fun to bring you along when I decorate our new home. Hopefully, we will get our furniture that are shipped on a boat in time for our moving on Thursday. Otherwise it will be very empty in the beginning *smile*
